Congratulations on completing your program at GC Tech! As you take the next step in your educational and career journey, there are a few important items to keep in mind. Whether you are entering the workforce, continuing your education, pursuing additional certifications or exploring new opportunities, the resources below can help you stay connected and prepared for success. Be sure to review both the information for all graduates and the guidance specific to your program area.
All programs
- Download and save copies of your resume, cover letter, portfolio materials and any important documents or emails from your school account. These materials may no longer be available after you complete the program.
- Review our articulation agreements to determine whether any opportunities align with your postsecondary education and career plans.
- Interested in continuing your education or training? Explore Nassau BOCES Adult Education Programs to build new skills, earn certifications or advance in your chosen field.
Program-specific information
Automotive Technology
- You have earned your OSHA certification and ASE credentials. Be sure to keep these documents in a safe place, as employers may request copies during the hiring process.
Construction Electricity
- You have earned your OSHA certification. Keep your certification documents in a safe place and readily available for future employment opportunities.
Cosmetology
- Ready to become licensed? Review the step-by-step guide for registering for your New York State Board Exam and complete your registration through the Department of State website. Once you receive your license, we'd love to hear from you!
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- To receive your college credits, complete and submit the required transcript request form from VEEB to your college admissions office. If you have not yet completed the EMT certification process, do so within one year of graduation.
Esthetics
- Many of you may have already obtained your New York State esthetics license. If you have not yet taken your licensing examinations, please visit the New York State Department of State esthetics website to apply for licensure and register for your exams. Be sure to review all requirements and exam information before submitting your application. Check out the step-by-step guides to register.
HVAC
- You have earned your OSHA certification and EPA 608 certification. Be sure to keep copies of these credentials in a secure location, as they are important qualifications for employment in the HVAC industry.
Medical Assisting
- Your CHP Provisional Certification expires two years after issuance. To maintain your credential, be sure to upgrade your certification before it expires by following the requirements outlined on the Certified Health Professionals website.
