New and Returning Students

Required Uniform

• Dark blue button-down long or short sleeve work shirt
• Dark blue or black work pants or coveralls
• Black oil resistant soled shoes
• Safety glasses

Required Supplies

• binder with 20 dividers for computer lab work
• binder for classwork and notes 
• Pens pencils
• safety glasses
• Non-slip boots, preferably steel toed

Safety is always first and is strictly enforced.  Students may not work in the lab without proper uniform and footwear.   

Required Uniform

• Solid colored long or short sleeved t-shirt (gray, navy, or black) either plain or GC tech logo 
• Tan work pants OR jeans (no sweatpants) 
• Slip resistant rubber soled shoes or work boots (steel toed recommended for job sites) 
• White hard hat (no stickers allowed on hard hats) 
• Cut resistant latex dipped work glove 
• OSHA approved safety glasses

Required Supplies and Materials:

• 3 ring portfolio binder
• Colored pencils (at minimum: black, white, red, green, blue, yellow, orange)
• Notebook for class notes
• Calculator
• Safety glasses
• Non-slip boots, steel-toe reinforced encouraged

Recommended Materials All tools and materials will be supplied by BOCES, however students are encouraged to bring their own tool belt/bag and tools.  Suggested tools will be discussed in class. 

Special Notes:  

You will be working with electricity.  Safety is always first and is strictly enforced.  Students may not work in the shop without proper uniform and footwear.

• A minimum of (2) black scrub pants
  • Please note: Scrubs are to be worn over regular clothing - a larger size is recommended
• Black shoes - leather closed toed, slip resistant bottomed shoes (no sneakers!)

• Analog watch with a second hand
• CPR face mask with oxygen port
  • A small carrying case is suggested for the blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, and CPR face mask.
• NOTE: The above Amazon links are given as an example only.  All the items on the list can be purchased where most convenient.  There are many equivalent brands to choose from.  The MDF Acoustica is an excellent entry example of a stethoscope.  It is suggested to avoid the inexpensive, ($10) Stethoscopes as well as avoiding very expensive ones, as they may be difficult to learn on.  All students are expected to be in full uniform on the first day of the program.

Students may not work on clinical experiences without full, complete uniform and footwear.
